Take this, Michelle Obama!

I'm not the first lady and I don't live at the most famous address in the US of A, but I can plant a garden too! For the last few years, I've grown tomatoes, peppers and herbs in pots on our back patio. But this year I wanted to step it up. I somehow talked Korey into digging up a small area in our backyard, spreading compost and then digging holes. I've told Korey that if he makes fun of my gardening obsession at all, he will not eat this summer. But today he told a friend at Home Depot that asked what we were up to: "Mary hugs trees on weekends". Maybe I do.

Here are some pics of the project. Not exactly the white house lawn, but almost.

Hopefully in the next few weeks or months we'll enjoy tomatoes, squash, blueberries, strawberries, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers, cayenne peppers, basil, oregano, parsley, and rosemary.

Mary...I would love to do this...I actually thought about trying strawberries. I'm trying to grow basil and oregeno in little pots in the window sill...I'm just usually not very good at keeping things alive...what's the secret?

Holla!!! Mary Mobbs---where have you been all my life. I am pretty excited about your blog....
And i would love to plant a garden, but I don't think I would know what to do with the produce...8)

I don't have any garden secrets really-just sun and water. As for what to do with the produce, just type the fruit or veggie into myrecipes.com and it will give you recipes.
